Take a shortcut to Scilly, with flights from Southampton, Bristol, Exeter, Newquay and Land's End. Southampton now has 4 flights a week. A direct train link to Southampton Parkway (airport stop) operates from Waterloo. Bristol and Exeter each have 7 flights a week, one a day Monday to Friday, with 2 flights on Saturday. The Penzance - St Mary's route has been operated by helicopter since 1964 and is the world's longest running scheduled helicopter service. The Tresco service was inaugurated in 1983 and therefore 2004 sees the 40th and 21st anniversary of the helicopter service to the Islands. The twenty minute flight operates six days a week with regular flights throughout the day.
